dj spoko was born marvin ramalepe, raised in the rural town of tzaneen in northern south africa, where he says there was no first or third class—all the same. he started producing on a pc at age 12, after moving with his brother kelly rams ramalepe to atteridgeville, a 99%-black township outside the mostly white city of pretoria – to find their father. they lived in an area called ghost town, near atteridgeville s cemetery, where as the neighborhood s premiere producer, young spoko earned the nickname ghost. the title of his new ghost town ep

one more heavy hitter on credo, and this time we could even say two tracks that form an ep as strond as the so far most sold credo-release from 2007 - bullet in your heart. the name tells already some connection to australia and indeed the basic idea came up during alex tour down under in fall 2012 where he played three cities within three days and a total of 9h playtime for which he travelled 64h in total. sydney acid is the main track of the ep, no doubt and hard to describe. it is a pure, driven technotrack with a fierce, no blubby, but very powerful acid bassline aiming at riots on the dancefloor. melbourne dub tells exactly what the track is all about and by the way featuring the sound of the local traffic lights that made alex thinking about creating some tracks related to it.

sino is proud to present delaze . delaze is a multi faceted music producer. coming from a culturally diverse and deeply rooted music family, becoming a music producer of varied taste was an inevitable path. his father was a well known radio host in the city of brasilia back in the 80s. it was there where delaze discovered his love for music. being surrounded by his dads massive vinyl collection enabled delaze to appreciate the classics. for his first ep, sino selected three tracks. bloody samba as the title suggest is inspired by the heat of brazilian carnaval. aint hot is deep and funky oscillating between techno and house. discoordination goes disco.

massimiliano is back where he belongs. a backbone of live at robert johnson records, pagliaras take on neo-dance, post-disco and proto-house is as unmistakable as it is dreamlike. with this sound palette, a love for hardware and surgical arrangements > magic serials< sees the berlin-based producers on top of his game. while name checking the tools of his work (the serials, got it?), mp unfolds untold stories of love, high spirits and deep meditation that every romantic rave craves for – acid poetry included.

the small, exquisitely formed take records maintain their reputation for tracks that elegantly live their life on the peripheries of house and techno with this release from one of the labels co-owners, rick grant, and a fine cabal of remixers. the west london-based producers original mix adopts the full widescreen effect, cascading deep bass throbs and a trembling metallic clatter across a ponderous 2-step click. consequences reworking wires in some heavy-ass sub-bass transmissions and a rapid-fire hi-hat rhythm, before jack dixons late-night submission takes a clockwork 4/4 tempo and bolts a springy, low-slung bassline to it, accompanied by layers of velvety synth patterns. crossing is an ep of uniformly consistent quality, where texture and atmosphere take the spotlight.

fist up on the a side is *eat ya foe*, a track which is built on unique percussion that possesses a warm bit crush effect. these foundations support the bouncing bassline which has an acid feel to it that works well against the potent vocals.
further damage is caused on the flip with *illin* where the rolling drums build nicely into the engaging lead line that advances through the track with filters and variations.

rummage in some boxes of my favourite record store i found a cover that made me curious. l kubic & tagträumer² - the only thing in this world and on the flipside a remix by alle farben. when placing the needle at the beginning of the vinyl the first sounds were very strange. i thought that must be a record from the 60s lost in the tech-house box but than a straight beat turned everything different. a piano melody slowly sat down firmly in my ear and i was longing to know where the journey takes me. after a while an acidline pushed everything and i was sure at this time this is not a normal 4/4 tech-house record. alle farben remixed the themes very playful and i heard that he gives the elements more pressure for the club. so at the end i bought this one and i cannot imagine taking this unique record ever again out of my record case.

danny wolfers wears many hats: jackmaster corky, trackman lafonte & bonquiqui, legowelt... nacho patrol is dannys travels towards african space travel. where earlier nacho patrol records spent time exploring cosmic ethiopia, this current incarnation adds a more sci-fi element to the mix, taking influences from chicago house to sun city girls, this is purely original sounds from one of the best producers out there.
